Salary Range
$38,000-$46,000 for 36 hours/week

Essential Functions: Coordinated enrollment and community/family outreach
Coordinated Enrollment: The Ready Regions Community Outreach Specialist (COS) works to develop a Coordinated Enrollment system for Birth to Five early education programs, working with public and private programs. The COS for BBCV works directly with community partners in early childhood education to carry out critical recruitment and enrollment work needed to fill preschool programs to capacity, including Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI), Head Start (HS), Early Head Start (EHS) and Mixed Delivery (MD). The ideal candidate will engage community partners to spread the word about preschool options for three and four year old children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide leadership, direction and support to external partners to sustain a coordinated enrollment process
• Connect existing providers to families in need of childcare services
• Support expanding capacity for childcare and safe learning spaces for preschool aged children by assisting the Mixed Delivery program at BBCV
• Ensure that eligible families’ needs and preferences are matched with programs and childcare providers who have the capacity to serve them
• Ensure that the needs of partners sites are met; application review; support of partnership agreements
• Performs other duties assigned by BBCV Director
• Keep an accurate and up to date list of participating partners, application numbers and eligibility
• Collect information on family referrals and follow up Community and Family: The COS works to inform communities and families of the purpose, functions and priorities of the Ready Regions initiative.
• Work in collaboration with the RR BBCV Family Liaison to develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of early education, language development and other pre-literacy and pre-kindergarten skills; and to gain understanding of family needs
• Attend community events and engage in community-based committees and efforts addressing the needs of children and families
• Work with BBCV Director to develop outreach materials including brochures, and web content
• Assist Family Liaison to increase enrollment in Bright by Text; work with community partners for regional messages
• Maintain outreach / consultation / training calendar
• Other support functions as needed

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
College Graduate preferred.
