LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The United Way of Central Virginiacollect 9,000 pounds of food in October!
The original goal was to collect 7,000 pounds…but thanks to 16 local businesses and the communities generosity they were 2,000 pounds above it.
The donations were distributed to 12 local agencies who all received three full boxes including food, hygiene and paper products.
“These agencies are super important especially this time of year,” said Olivia Beavon, the Director of Marketing at the United Way of Central Virginia, “November is a crucial month for them because they kind of need to restock and revamp their supplies for the coming holidays so it’s a great time of year to contribute.”
