Young Leaders Society
What is the Young Leaders Society?
The Young Leaders Society of United Way of Central Virginia is a group of community-minded professionals between the ages of 18-40, who not only talk about ideas, but shape them into reality while seeking ways to improve the lives of others in our region.
YLS understands that the leaders of tomorrow start today! The YLS is a group of individuals that not only talk about ideas, but who shape them into reality–who look around and see ways to improve the lives of others. Make friends. Make a difference. Be the change that you want to see in your community.
Connect: Network with like-minded professionals who know what it means to LIVE UNITED. Meet folks just like you who live, work and volunteer in Central Virginia. With members from every business facet available in Region 2000, you are sure to meet and develop relationships with new and exciting people at each gathering.
Serve: Discover volunteer opportunities that make meaningful impacts in the community. Be a voice for United Way. Volunteer your time, talents and ideas to creating a better life for those in our region. We know you are busy. That is why we ask you to commit your time on an individual basis. Consider your schedule and tell us how involved you can be. Everyone has something to share!
Lead: Seek professional development and learn leadership skill building. Put your leadership skills to work by becoming an event project manager, Steering Committee member or joining the United Way Campaign Cabinet. With our Membership Coordinator keeping up with volunteer hours, we are able to share your success with your workplace! Think raise. Think awards. Think company-wide jealousy of your volunteering awesomeness!
